A Volunteer Programme Built Around Real Animal Care
Volunteers are a valued part of life at Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park. We’ve shaped our programme to give you a genuine mix of animal care and hands-on work, the kind of day that reflects what working in a wildlife park actually looks like.
Work Alongside Our Expert Keepers
Our keepers run the programme and work with you directly. Each day involves the real tasks that keep the park running well for our animals.
Volunteers typically help with:
- Preparing and delivering food for the animals
- Enclosure cleaning and maintenance
- Setting up enrichment activities
- Gardening and general park maintenance
- Assisting keepers during animal encounters
No two days are identical, and that’s part of what makes it worthwhile.
Walk through the Wildlife sanctuary Victoria
Set against the backdrop of one of Australia’s most travelled coastal routes, the park covers around 39 acres of gently rolling terrain. It’s a working sanctuary, not a theme park, and volunteering here reflects that.
Whether you’re studying animal science, exploring a career change, or simply want to spend time in a more purposeful way, our keepers will work with you to make the experience genuinely useful.
